Frequently Asked Questions
Does LifeCard work without internet?
Yes. All your data is stored locally on your device. Your emergency profile, contacts, and medications are always accessible even without wifi or cellular service.
How do I set up LifeCard for a family member?
On your phone, go to the My Card tab and tap "Set Up For a Family Member." Fill in their info and tap "Send Setup Link." They'll receive a message — one tap opens the app with everything pre-filled for them to confirm and save.
How does the SOS button work?
Tapping "I Need Help" opens a pre-composed text message to your primary emergency contact. Make sure you've added a primary contact in the Contacts tab first.
Why isn't my widget showing my information?
After updating your profile, open the app and tap Edit then Save to refresh the widget. If it still doesn't update, try removing the widget and re-adding it.
Is my data backed up?
Your LifeCard data is included in your iPhone's standard iCloud or iTunes backup. If you restore your phone from a backup, your profile will be restored automatically.
How do I add the widget to my lock screen?
Long press your lock screen, tap Customize, tap the area below the clock, tap Add Widget, then find LifeCard. The rectangular widget shows your blood type and top allergy.
Can I print my emergency card?
Yes — tap "Share My Card" on the main screen. The share sheet includes a PDF you can print via AirPrint or save to Files.
How do medication reminders work?
When adding a medication, toggle "Remind me daily" and set a time. You'll get a local notification each day at that time. Works offline.
